Installing Plesk on a Windows VPS
Plesk is a commercial web hosting control panel that simplifies server management tasks such as setting up websites, reseller accounts, email accounts, and DNS entries through a web-based interface. Here’s how to install Plesk on a Windows VPS:

Installation Steps
Log in to Your VPS:
- Connect to your server via Remote Desktop (RDP)
Download and Run the Installer:
- Open your browser and go to the Plesk website.
- Find the "Plesk Windows Installer" section at the bottom of the page and download the installer.
- Run the installer.
- Open Command Prompt and navigate to the directory where you saved the installer.
- Execute one of the following commands:
- For standard installation:
plesk-installer.exe --web-interface
- For the latest preview release (for testing):
plesk-installer.exe --web-interface --tier testing
- For previous Plesk versions:
plesk-installer.exe --web-interface --all-versions
Configure Initial Settings:
- Choose your language settings.
- Enter your login credentials. The default user is "Administrator," and the password is provided in your client area service management login details (the same one used for RDP access).
- Select Installation Type:
- Choose "Install or Upgrade Product."
- Select Plesk as the product. You can change the version if you opted for previous releases in step 2B. Click "Continue."
Choose the installation type:
- Recommended: Includes all necessary components for web hosting and popular features.
- Full: Contains all components and features but requires the most disk space.
- Custom: Allows selecting specific components. Recommended for experienced users.
Customize Installation:
For the Recommended type, configure file directory paths and set a password for the Plesk admin user (at least 10 characters long, including capital letters and numbers).
Complete Installation:
- Confirm your choices to begin the installation. This process will take approximately 20 minutes or longer, depending on the selected components.
Access Plesk:
Once installation is complete, click "OK" to finish.
Access the Plesk control panel by opening the application on your server desktop or by entering the following URL in your browser:
https://localhost:8443/
Your Plesk installation is now complete, and you can start managing your server through the Plesk control panel.
